How do I use Fentun with Windows '95/NT4.0 and Netscape Navigator?
Find the Fentun files on the PC Advisor cover disc. To do this, go to Start, Run and Type D:/edit/utilities (where D is the letter of the relevant drive). Then select an appropriate place on your hard drive for Fentun to live. As an example, we'll place Fentun in C:\Program Files\Fentun\fentun.exe. Remember where you put Fentun - you'll need to enter the path a little later.
Extract the fentun.zip file to this, or another memorable location on your hard disk.
Select the Options/General Preferences... menu item in Netscape Navigator 3.0. The Preferences dialog should appear.
Select the Helpers tab.
Click the Create New Type... button. A Configure New Mime Type dialog should appear.
Enter application in the Mime Type field.
Enter ms-tnef in the Mime SubType field.
Click the OK button. The Preferences dialog should now be the frontmost window, with the newly added Mime Type highlighted in blue.
Enter tnf in the File Extensions field. If you are already using tnf on your system, put something else in this field. (You'll append the file extension you enter here to any ms-tnef attachment you save as a file. Note: when using Fentun with Netscape Navigator, you will rarely, if ever, need to save an ms-tnef attachment.)
Click inside the white circle to the left of Launch the Application. A black dot should appear in the white circle.
Enter the path to where you placed Fentun in step 2 in the field below Launch the Application. For our example, we'll enter "C:\Program Files\Fentun\fentun.exe" (enclose the path in quotes if there is a space in the path - in our example, there's a space between Program and Files). If you do not know where you put Fentun, you can find it using the Start Menu's Find/Files or Folders... feature. See Microsoft Windows '95s online documentation for more information about how to use this feature.
Click OK at the bottom of the dialog. Fentun is now installed and ready to handle ms-tnef attachments when they arrive in your e-mail.
